Segundo Jimenez
HEWITT - Services were held for Segundo Jimenez, 74, of this community, who died on Thursday, January 3, 2008.
Born in Argentina, Mr. Jimenez lived in Paterson and Heledon before moving to Hewitt. He was a textile printer for Brewster Textiles, Paterson, before retiring in 1985.
Services were at the D'Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, 224 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne, N.J. 07470 or to the National Parkinson Foundation Office of Development, 1501-NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Rd., Miami, Fla. 33136.
Mr. Jimenez is survived by his wife, the former Maria Nola Chaparro; his sons, William of Hewitt, and Edward of Upper Saddle River; his brother, Domingo Gimenez, of Paterson; his sister, Rosa, of Argentina; and three grandchildren.
Joseph Hannan
POMPTON LAKES - Services were held for Joseph F. Hannan, 84, of this community, who died on Sunday, January 7, 2008.
Mr. Hannan was born in Paterson. He was a teacher for the Wayne Township school district and later the director of guidance at Wayne Valley High School and St. Elizabeth's Academy, Convent Station. He had worked in the guidance department at Fair Lawn High School as well. Also, he was the author of Never Tease a Dinosaur and Killing Time as well as numerous articles. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion John H. Lookhoff Post 242. He was a member of the National Writers Group, UAW Local 1981, the Passaic County Historical Society, the AP Reunion Group Gen. W.H. Gordon AP 117, the NREA, the NJREA, and the Wayne Retired Teachers. He was a member and former director of the Canal Society of New Jersey and a founding member of the Pompton Lakes Historic Preservation Commission. And, he was a member of Justa Bunch of Banjos and a volunteer at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock.
Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. Burial was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canal Society of New Jersey, P.O. Box 737, Morristown, N.J. 07960 or to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, N.Y. 10305.
Mr. Hannan is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Condon; his sons, Joseph of Pompton Lakes, and Frank of West Milford; his daughters, Kathleen Craig and Eileen Melia of State College, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his son, Matthew.
Michael Bencze
KINNELON - Services were held for Michael Bencze, 76, of this community, who died on Monday, January 7, 2008.
Born in Hungary, Mr. Bencze came to the United States in 1956 and lived in Clifton before moving to Kinnelon. He was a chemical operator for Van Dyke & Co., Belleville, before retiring.
Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.
Mr. Bencze is survived by his wife, the former Lolita DeChavez; his son, Michael; his daughter, Elizabeth Richstone; his sisters, Gyula, Marika, and Eszter; and a granddaughter.
Joseph Ugrovics
WEST MILFORD - Services were held for Joseph G. Ugrovics, 77, of this township, who died on Sunday, January 6, 2008.
Mr. Ugrovics lived in Garfield before moving to West Milford 47 years ago. He was a truck driver for Mead-Wilbert, Wayne. Also, he was a former chief of Macopin Fire Co. #4, West Milford.

Mr. Ugrovics is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Monks; his sons, Joseph of Hewitt, Scott of Branchville, and Kevin of West Milford; his daughters, Debra Ugrovics of Bloomingdale, and Kimberly Taylor of Hamburg; his brother, Robert, of Manchester; his sister, Lila Amerspeck, of Jefferson Township; and six grandchildren.
Mildred Kober
WANAQUE - Services were held for Mildred Kober, 91, of this community, who died on Friday, January 4, 2008.
Born in Paterson, Mrs. Kober lived there and in Pompton Plains before moving to Wanaque. She was a homemaker. Also, she made religious cards for St. Anthony's Guild, Paterson, for many years.
Services were at the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
Mrs. Kober is survived by her sons, Albert and Michael; her sister, Julia; her brothers, John Greco and Mike Greco; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; and her parents, Frank and
Marie Greco.
Barbara Golembieski
POMPTON LAKES - Services were held for Barbara A. Pigut Golembieski, 76, of this community, who died on Saturday, January 5, 2008.
Mrs. Golembieski lived in North Arlington before moving to Pompton Lakes 11 years ago. She was a homemaker. Also, she was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Pompton Lakes, and a member of the Pompton Lakes Seniors.
Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. Interment was at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. Donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer St., Hackensack, N.J. 07601.
Mrs. Golembieski is survived by her husband, Stanley; her daughter, Janet Castellano, of Pompton Lakes; and two grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her brother, Charles.
Jerry Posner
POMPTON LAKES - Services were held for Jerry Posner, 62, of Galloway Township, who has passed away. He was a former resident of this community.
Mr. Posner lived in Paterson and Pompton Lakes before moving to Galloway Township. He owned several businesses in North Jersey before moving to South Jersey. Also, he was a dealer at Trump Marina for several years. He served with the Admiral's Fleet Band in the U.S. Navy as well.
Services were at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton. Arrangements were by the Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn.
Mr. Posner is survived by his sister, Phyllis Trackman.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Frieda.
Matteo Santangelo
WANAQUE - Services were held for Matteo Santangelo, 89, of this community, who died on Sunday, January 6, 2008.
Born in New York, Mr. Santangelo lived in Lakewood before moving to Wanaque 20 years ago. He was a garment presser and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Also, he was a custodian for the Freehold Township school system before retiring in 1980.
Arrangements were by the D'Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell. Interment was at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
Mr. Santangelo is survived by his wife, the former Marie Piparo; his sons, Isadore Santangelo of Pennsylvania, and Charles Otto of North Carolina; his daughters, Jean Chucka of Haskell, Donna Alfano of Rahway, and Theresa Visser of Wanaque; his brother, Anthony, of Freehold; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
