Margaret VanOudenaren
HASKELL - Services were held for Margaret Peggy Rager VanOudenaren, 85, of this community, who died on Friday, January 18, 2008.
Born in Pennsylvania, Mrs. VanOudenaren lived in Paterson before moving to Haskell 50 years ago. She was a homemaker. Also, she was a member of the Wanaque Golden Age Club and a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Haskell.
Services were at the D'Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell, followed by mass at St. Francis R.C. Church. Interment was at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
Mrs. VanOudenaren is survived by sons, Neil of North Carolina, and Lenny of Pennsylvania; her daughter, Margaret Torres, of Missouri; her brother, Robert, of North Haledon; her sister, Mary Zack, of Florida; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; and her son, Jack.
Ronald Smith Jr.
OAK RIDGE - Services were held for Ronald George Smith Jr., 64, of Sugar Run, Pa., who died on Friday, January 18, 2008. He was a former resident of this community.
Mr. Smith was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a mechanic with Accurate Auto Electric, West Paterson, before retiring. Also, he was a member of the Garden State Circle Burner Airplane Club.
Services were at the Vander Plaat-Stickle Memorial Home, Newfoundland. Donations may be sent to the Bradford City Humane Society, P.O. Box 179, Rt. 220, Ulster, Pa. 18850.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Christine Janitz, of Oak Ridge; his son, Ronald, of Denver, Colo.; his fiancée, Ruth Cruikshank, of Sugar Run; and a granddaughter.
He was predeceased by his wife, Hiltrud; and his parents, Ronald and Ruth.
Frank Cascio
WEST MILFORD - Services were held for Frank J. Cascio, 84, of this township, who died on Friday, January 18, 2008.
Mr. Cascio was born in Carbondale, Pa. He was a millwright for Ford Motors Co., Mahwah, before retiring. A member of American Legion Frank M. Sell Memorial Post 289, West Milford, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II as well.
Services were at the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford, followed by interment at Cedar Heights Cemetery, West Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Frank M. Sell Memorial Post 289, P.O. Box 289, West Milford, N.J. 07480.
Mr. Casio is survived by his wife, the former Rose Lucy Ventura; his daughters, Judith Wray, Franceen Osborne, and Josephine Ferrara; his brother, Eugene; his sisters, Sally Carlini and Rosemary Diadato; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Josephine.
Suzanne Mulligan
WEST MILFORD - Services were held for Suzanne Mulligan, 79, of this township, who died on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Born in Orange, Mrs. Mulligan lived there and in Butler before moving to West Milford. She was a bookkeeper for Jordan Transportation, Butler. Also, she was a secular Franciscan.
Arrangements were by the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler. Interment was at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The American Cancer Society, Northwest New Jersey Region, 669 Littleton Rd., Parsippany, N.J. 07054.
Mrs. Mulligan is survived by her husband, Edward; her daughters, Maureen Morano and Suzanne Hammond; her sons, William and Stephen; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Suzanne Schrak.
William Head
POMPTON LAKES - Services were held for William A. Head, 72, of this community, who died on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Mr. Head was born in Manhattan, N.Y. He was a detective for the New York City Police Department before retiring. Also, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the New York City Policemen's Benevolent Association and a parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes, as well.
Services were at Moore's Home for Funerals, Wayne, followed by mass at St. Mary's R.C. Church.
Mr. Head is survived by his wife, the former Helen Amen; his son, William; and his sister, Anne Hoog.
Harold Osborne
POMPTON LAKES - Services were held for Harold L. Osborne, 88, of this community, who died on Sunday, January 20, 2008.
Mr. Osborne was a lifelong resident of this community. He was a coiler for E.I. DuPont for 28 years. Also, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale. Interment was at the Pompton Lakes Reformed Church Cemetery.
Mr. Osborne is survived by his sons, Donald of Oak Ridge, and Harold of Pompton Lakes; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Martha Munson.
Karin Mugavero
POMPTON LAKES - Services were held for Karin Christine Mugavero, 28, of Ogdensburg, who died on Friday, January 18, 2008. She was the granddaughter of Corrine Tyndall of this community.

Benedict Schilling
WEST MILFORD - Services were held for Benedict L. Schilling, 86, of this township, who died on Thursday, January 17, 2008.
Born in Millville, Mr. Schilling lived in Dumont before moving to West Milford in 1996. He was a foreman for Lowe Paper Company, Ridgefield, before retiring. Also, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Services were at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hewitt. Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the West Milford First Aid Squad or to the American Heart Association.
Mr. Schilling is survived by his daughters, Donna Mahon, Janet Celler, and Kristine Parrella; his brother, Harry; his sister, Cecelia Hill; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Edna Leppert; and his parents, Walter and Cecelia.
Michael DeSiervo
POMPTON PLAINS - Services were held for Michael DeSiervo, 73, of Elmwood Park, who died on Thursday, January 17, 2008. He was the father of Doreen Bruno of this community.
Services were at the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Elmwood Park, followed by interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
Mr. DeSiervo also is survived by his wife, the former Jane Schmidt; his sons, Michael of Saddle Brook, and Richard of Elmwood Park; his other daughter, Diane Mascolo, of Elmwood Park; and nine grandchildren.
Joan Fagan
LINCOLN PARK - Services were held for Joan E. Crowe Fagan, 55, of Clifton, who died on Friday, January 18, 2008. She was the mother of Erin Koenig of this community.
Services were at the Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton, followed by mass at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Humane Society, 2100 L. St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20037.
Mrs. Fagan also is survived by her other daughters, Jennifer of Cedar Grove, and Kristen of Clifton; and her brother, Martin Crowe, of Hillsborough.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and her parents, Martin and Teresa Crowe.
Paul Nazaruk
WANAQUE - Services were held for Paul Nazaruk, 76, of this community, who died on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Born in Newark, Mr. Nazaruk lived in Cedar Grove, Caldwell, Wayne, and Lakewood before moving to Wanaque a year ago. He was the director of management information systems for Christ Hospital, Jersey City, where he worked for 25 years before retiring in 1996.
Arrangements were by the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.
Mr. Nazaruk is survived by his wife, the former Sonya Kushkowski; his son, Michael, of Normandy Beach; his daughter, Paula Vaccarella, of Montville; and three grandchildren.
Muriel Forbes
LINCOLN PARK - Services were held for Muriel K. Forbes, 83, of this community, who died on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Born in Paterson, Mrs. Forbes moved to Lincoln Park 20 years ago. She was a collator at Haband Co., Prospect Park, for 20 years before retiring 25 years ago. Also, she was a member of the Lincoln Park Seniors.
Arrangements were by the Keri Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln Park. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Memorial Park, Totowa.
Mrs. Forbes is survived by her son, Tom; her brother, Charles Donnelly; her sisters, Kay Hirz, Fran Fitzgerald, and Phyllis Cavallo; and three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, James; and her sister, Marie Pearson.
Ruth Kary
POMPTON PLAINS - Services were held for Ruth A. Kary, 56, of this community, who died on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Born in Paterson, she lived in Lincoln Park for 24 years before moving to Pompton Plains in 1999. She was a school bus driver for Coast Cities-Laidlaw Transportation of Lincoln Park for 16 years before retiring in 1985. Also, she was a file clerk at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville. She was active with Lincoln Park Boy Scout Troop 70 and the Boonton High School Band Parents as well.
Arrangements were by the Keri Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln Park. Interment was at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated.
She is survived by her sons, Donald and Raymond; her brother, Greg Richards; and six grandchildren.
John Lazor
HEWITT - Services were held for John T. Lazor, 86, of Clifton, who died on Saturday, January 19, 2008. He was the father of Robert of this community.
Arrangements were by the Marrocco Memorial Chapel, Clifton. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
Mr. Lazor also is survived by his wife, the former Anastasia Berdnik; his other sons, John of Clifton, Edward of Mahwah, and Michael of Clifton; and six grandchildren.
