Juliet Ehrmann
RIVERDALE - Services were held for Juliet T. Seibert Ehrmann, 81, of this community, who died on Monday, January 7, 2008.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Ehrmann lived in West Orange, East Orange, and Clifton before moving to Riverdale. She was a sales clerk for the Printed Word Bookstore before retiring in 1994.
Services were at the Richards Funeral Home, Riverdale, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Lung Association, 1600 Rt. 22 East, Union, N.J. 07083.
Mrs. Ehrmann is survived by her sons, Charles of Wayne, Douglas of Chester, N.Y., and Scott of West Milford; her daughters, Julie Albrecht of Sparta, Pamela Gubick of Riverdale, Robin Lozosky of Ringwood, and Sandra Stewart of Easton, Pa.; her brother, Carl Seibert, of Sussex; her sister, Gayle Hammond, of Lakewood; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; and her parents, Carl and Juliet Seibert.
Ingrid Hammer
RINGWOOD - Services were held for Ingrid Weniger Hammer, 68, of New York City, who died on Thursday, December 27, 2007. She was a former resident of this community.
Born and raised in Innsbruck, Austria, Mrs. Hammer came to the United States in 1967 and lived in New York City and Ringwood before returning to New York City in 1999. She worked for Haines Lundberg Waehler before retiring.
Arrangements were by Bradley & Sons Funeral Homes, Chatham.
Mrs. Hammer is survived by her son, Gregory; and a granddaughter.
Thomas Longo Sr.
HASKELL - Services were held for Thomas Longo Sr., 94, of Ormond Beach, Fla., who died on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. He was a former resident of this community.
Mr. Longo lived in Haskell before moving to Ormond Beach 30 years ago. He was a loom fixer in the textiles industry for many years. Also, he was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Ormond Beach, and the Knights of Columbus in New Jersey.
Arrangements were by the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.
Mr. Longo is survived by his wife, Helen; his sons, Thomas of Salisbury, N.C., and Richard and Joseph, both of Ormond Beach; his brother, Frank, of Sewill; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Charles Davenport
BUTLER - Services were held for Charles E. Davenport, 86, of this borough, who died on Wednesday, January 9, 2008.
Born in Newfoundland, Mr. Davenport lived there before moving to Butler. He was a machinist for E.I. DuPont, Pompton Lakes, before retiring in 1983. He also was the artist for the E.I. DuPont safety program and participated in local and state art competitions. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Butler. He was an usher at Butler Community Nazarene Church as well.
Arrangements were by the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler. Burial was at Mt. Rest Cemetery, Butler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Butler Community Nazarene Church, 188 Kiel Ave., Butler, N.J. 07405.
Mr. Davenport is survived by his wife, the former Carrie Van Zile; his son, Dewayne; his daughters, Darlene Dilts and Dora Davenport; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lillian.
Dennis Passenti
BUTLER - Services were held for Dennis Passenti, 59, of this borough, who died on Wednesday, January 9, 2008.
Born in Paterson, Mr. Passenti lived in Haskell before moving to Butler. He was the chief of the Butler Police, serving in every office with the department during his career there before retiring in 2007. Also, he was a member of numerous law enforcement organizations. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8096 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Unico and the Wopeena Archery Club, Clifton. And, he played lead guitar with the Forever Gold Oldies Band.
Services were at St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Butler, followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler. Arrangements were by the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler.
Mr. Passenti is survived by his wife, the former Lynn Reno; his daughter, Andrea; and his sisters, Marrianne Yodice and Donna Schmiedhauser.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dominick and Genevieve.
Helen Darmofalski
PEQUANNOCK - Services were held for Helen B. Darmofalski, 92, of this township, who died on Thursday, January 10, 2008.
Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Darmofalski moved to Pequannock in 1962. She was a quality control manager for Chatham Laboratories, Riverdale. Also, she was a parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes.
Arrangements were by the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. Burial was at Our Lady of the Magnificat Cemetery, Kinnelon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Pequannock Fire Department or to Hospice of the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey.
Mrs. Darmofalski is survived by her son, Paul; her daughters, Barbara Chase, Diane Darmofalski, Christine Territo, and Mary Anne Cullari; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chester.
Betty Jacobovics
LINCOLN PARK - Services were held for Betty Jacobovics, 89, of this community, who died on Sunday, January 6, 2008.
Born in Coatesville, Pa., Mrs. Jacobovics moved to Lincoln Park in 1954. She was a homemaker. Also, she was a member of the Lincoln Park Seniors, the Warming Bee, St. Joseph's Church, Lincoln Park, and the American Legion Post 279 Ladies Auxiliary.
Arrangements were by the Keri Memorial Home, Lincoln Park. Interment was at Our Lady of the Magnificat Cemetery, Kinnelon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Joseph's Church or to Rosary Hill Home, Hawthorne, N.Y.
Mrs. Jacobovics is survived by her daughter, Kathy Petrow; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; and her daughter, Pauline Jennings.
Patricia Stokem
WANAQUE - Services were held for Patricia Ann Stokem, 61, of Wanaque, who died on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.
Born in Wanaque, she was a lifelong resident of this community. She worked for Datascope, Fairfield, before retiring.
Services were at the D'Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell, followed by mass at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes. Interment was at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. She is survived by her son, Harold, of Wanaque; her brothers, James of Wanaque, and Jeffrey of Bloomingdale; her sister, Donna Delany, of Wanaque; and a granddaughter.
Richard Ur
WEST MILFORD - Services were held for Richard Ur, 76, of Saddle Brook, who died on Sunday, January 6, 2008. He was a former resident of this township.
Born in Wallington, Mr. Ur. Lived in West Milford before moving to Saddle Brook 42 years ago. He was a sheet metal mechanic for Harold Hendricks, Saddle Brook, and later a security guard for American Commercial Security Services of New York for 10 years before retiring. Also, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St. John's Lutheran Church, Passaic, as well.
Services were at the Shook Funeral Home, Clifton, followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Veterans Administration Hospital, East Orange.
Mr. Ur is survived by his son, Terry, of Saddle Brook; his daughters, Julie Feuer of Elmwood Park, and Lisa Priff of Butler; and two granddaughters. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Joan Mastrolia; and his son, Scott.
Carrie Alward
POMPTON LAKES - Services were held for Carrie Tonti Alward, 100, of this community, who died on Wednesday, January 9, 2008.
Born in Italy, Mrs. Alward lived in Haskell before moving to Pompton Lakes. She worked for DuPont, Pompton Lakes, for more than 50 years.
Services were at the D'Agostino Funeral Home, Haskell, followed by interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
Mrs. Alward is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Churchill, of Pompton Lakes; her sister, Blanche Nicholson, or Orange; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chester.
Jose Couret
WEST MILFORD - Services were held for Jose "Joe" N. Couret, 63, of Charleston, S.C., who died on Monday, January 7, 2008. He was the father of Mark Couret and Denise Budin, both of this township.
Arrangements were by the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home.
Mr. Couret also is survived by his former wife, Julia; his other son, Richard, of Knoxville, Tenn; his sisters, Maria-Alicia Marchetti, Jefferson, N.Y., and Maria-Minerva Marchetti, Flushing, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Lucas Guillermo and Fernando Ricardo; and his sister, Josefina Couret.
Thomas Hobbis Jr.
BUTLER - Services were held for Thomas R. Hobbis Jr., 77, of Ho-Ho-Kus, who died on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. He was the father of Christian of this borough.
Services were at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, Ridgewood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Mr. Hobbis also is survived by his wife, the former Christine Lehmann; his other son, Thomas, of Chatham; and two granddaughters.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Marjorie.
Bruce Ireland
PEQUANNOCK - Services were held for Bruce D. Ireland, 74, of this township, who died on Friday, January 11, 2008.
Born in Baltimore, Md., Mr. Ireland lived in Nutley before moving to Pequannock 42 years ago. He was a self-employed dental engineer before retiring. Also, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Services were at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains, followed by interment at William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
Mr. Ireland is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen O'Keefe; his son, Daniel; his daughters, Laura Figueiredo and Diane Jackson; his brother, Donald; and two grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard.
Leonard Loprete
POMPTON LAKES - Services were held for Leonard Loprete, 68, of this community, who died on Friday, January 11, 2008.
Mr. Loprete was born in Newark. He was the owner of Pompton Lakes Taxi for 25 years and of Circus Doll House, Pompton Plains, for 30 years. Also, he was a member of Cornerstone Chapel, Pompton Plains. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines as well.
Services were at the Morrison Funeral Home, Butler, followed by burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
Mr. Loprete is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his sons, Leonard Loprete, Jim Hout, and William Hout; his daughter, Kathy Gonzalez; and four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Frances.
Dorothy Sepede
LINCOLN PARK - Services were held for Dorothy Gannaio Sepede, 73, of Lodi, who died on Friday, January 11, 2008. She was the mother of Mark of this community.
Services were at the Santangelo Funeral Home, Lodi, followed by mass at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Lodi. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
Mrs. Sepede also is survived by her other son, John, of Valley Cottage, N.Y.; her brother, Samuel Gannaio; and five grandchildren.
